A savepoint in the transaction it was set in, valid until rolled back to or released, or until the transaction ends, see EntityConnection.savepoint().

A token, identifying the savepoint by its id(): one set via a remote connection is set by the server, the token passed between the two, which is what savepoint(UUID) is for.
